Sacoa celebrates its 65-year anniversary as an operator this year and its 30-year anniversary as a provider to the entertainment industry, according to a press release.

The story began when Mauricio Mochkovsky observed a jukebox at the Derby Bar in Mar del Plata, Argentina in the mid 1950s. He contacted the owner of that machine and bought three jukeboxes.

In 1957, his son, Jorge Mochkovsky, current president, was 10 years old, and began renewing records every week with new titles and once a month changed the picks and washed the records while his father collected the bags with one-peso coins from the machines.

Jorge Mochkovsky and his brothers opened the first Sacoa family entertainment center in Mar del Plata in 1969.

The company eventually developed its Sacoa PlayCard System, which rose from its need to optimize the operation of its premises.

In 1992, the first Sacoa Entertainment store went online, replacing the use of tokens with a computerized magnetic PlayCard system.

In 1994, it exported the Sacoa PlayCard system to operators such as Playcenter in Brazil and Dave & Buster's in the U.S. The company now has thousands of installations in more than 70 countries.
